picture yourself in the most forgiving way like when everybody cares what you say like it's your birthday picture yourself in the most familiar light got your finger on the pulse ear to the ground alright cause everybody wants to leave together but every day the wait could be forever til you stop looking to see what's better oh you surrender now at last it's better late than never lost track of time slipped through your prime you look for the watershed man but everything's going throw it away just for today you can't even bother with that now and everything's showing and when that picture fades to black that's when you'll be ready for the world to see picture this life in another place in another world would you leave a trace feature yourself in the story in your head and if you freeze to death out there just stay inside instead cause everybody wants to leave together but every day the wait could be forever lost track of time slipped through your prime you look for the watershed man but everything's going throw it away just for today you can't even bother with that now and everything's showing decades from now wondering how you let them all get in your head man without ever knowing

i think the sky's been open but every time i look there's a hole in the line you're drifting like a barge writhing on the floor i think the party's over you look a little lost in the morning light now every day you duck inside your windows you're keeping out of sight all this time were you gonna tell me what i need to hear because we've been trying for so long to just completely disappear it's like a movie without the sound you only get it when nobody is around you're barely standing for another round a meditation comparisons abound come recommended by four out of five feel clean and polished more dead than alive waiting for the earth-shaking news to arrive all this time were you gonna... nothing to show nowhere to go so why take it slow why take it slow

Three String 02:37
people try every day but we don't talk about them yeah they reach and they crash and they fall in a flash and they crawl to the end have you been closing the gap or are you closer to dust if it falls in your lap do you fall in the trap is it perfect or bust at the hinges of your mind do you know what lies behind once you let it slip inside then there's nowhere left to hide so now you're holding on but you're talking low and there's a light up there but it's alright down below and i know what i know and it's a long long way to go you've had your fun but now you're done

Number One 03:29
if i smile it's gonna take me over and then my mind is gonna break me open you're in the room just for a moment but for you standing tall the time is frozen and there's no better place and there's no better time to simplify your mind you're running for the door you can't find it anymore and then you ask yourself what it is you were looking for out of a silent voice leaning on the drug of choice locked in a room without a view i don't even care to justify everything is there to falsify and i know that they got me dead to right and then they got me to say what i told you i would never say in a million years my friend but even that's got to end i ran so far from all my problems i wrapped around the world and landed right back on them

have you waited all this time to be left behind you're floating aimlessly and undefined have you waited all this time to be tossed aside when do you think that you'll be satisfied got three tries to recognize the lie as it flies in your eyes to win the grand prize it's a two day getaway no place to stay and no pay don't stray or delay (i'll walk away) money talks humanity walks when the shock wears off you're taking stock with the rest of the flock your empathy is killing me you give it away for free how could you be so pathetically sentimental shhhh quiet down you're in a sensitive place and there's no friends around don't get overzealous or you'll never make a sound they'll clamp down and you'll be the first back underground stop look inside are you alive are you along for the ride have we waited all this time to be dignified got three tries to open your eyes to witness your own demise oh you're in for a surprise it's an all expense paid life in the shade think you're a renegade well you've been played i'm afraid scream and shout talk about what they want you to talk about as long as you don't talk about finding a way out when i stop and take a look at my lot don't think i wouldn't trade it all you have my thanks for holding my spot don't think i need it after all when i see what you did to get where you got don't think i'm ready now at all every little waste of space that it's bought don't think i wouldn't trade it

Hands 04:15
you got some blood on your hands i can see it in your smile you got some blood on your hands i can see it in your style well you know that we're keeping it moving and we know that you're gonna be losing your minds but every friday you can keep on grooving and we can find a place for you down the line when did we ever think that we could find a way out with our purity intact when did we ever think that we could find a way out with our purity intact don't push me i got the world in my hands your worth has already been proven so shift down the gear and you're cruising now and when you turn twenty seven you know that you'll be one step closer to heaven and when you turn twenty eight you'll wake up and suddenly realize that it's all gone to shit and it's too late

everybody here was wondering what's the longest you could go can you talk about your time on the down and out cause we've been dying to know could you justify the world to me like it's 1962 i'm not saying it's a simple fix but it's the best we can do it's the new scene can you tell me what i want to hear help me hold on to my youth you're probably think that i'm closing my eyes in fear you can't be further from the truth missed a new scene

Upjumped 04:09
Upjumped Sleek wrists and fistbumps A quick lift up done with this dump Purge your mind in a fiery blaze As you wave goodbye to your subprime days Waterfront mindset, time to flaunt But back on weekends to all the old haunts The New York Sports Club’s your destiny So on your knees for your enemy Post-punk, as in done with it all Not like Mark E. Smith and The Fall More like Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch When the corporate partners take you out to lunch If you schmooze you lose You’re gonna have to choose If you can’t refuse you gotta change your views Misuse the news to uphold the ruse And recuse yourself when they light the fuse Dignitaries calling for you But take a second I implore you Look over the fence before you fly, fly away Take the bottom out and watch it fall Cause you can have your piece/peace or you can snatch it all Black squares and introspection To take things in a new direction Look twice, it’s the new deflection Staring down your own reflection Feels to me like a misdirection Starving for a course correction A reconnection, a resurrection Cause we’re perfecting disaffection I’ve been trying for days But I can’t drive it away Got you working overtime to fill the spaces in your mind

in a way it feels poetic or is it just pathetic waited all this time to get it waited three whole weeks to shed it now inside your mind it's growing now in every vein it's flowing think you know where this is going or will you wait til it starts showing now every day it rots away but don't you love it you're changing lanes you stay the same but don't you know it they cut the show you'll never know but don't you quit it they got to you you know it's true just don't admit it well you held it close for oh so long then you sold it to the highest bidder rearranging your designs and all the while it rots and withers rest your mind all beaten and bloody two weeks in somewhere sunny oh don't laugh cause it's not funny you can change your plans and take the money now every day it rots away but don't you love it you're changing lanes you stay the same but don't you know it my mind's been made up all this time now every day it rots away but don't you love it there's nothing new since twenty two but don't you know it it's in your head it's got to spread but don't you let it i learned a trick for times like this but i forget it

Leaving 04:14
is it ever gonna be the same oh i've been taking my time long nights in the car with my mind on its own road traveling far now i'm blocking my time out yeah i'm cleaning my mind out i know i know oh oh oh i saw a light from a far drowned deep in the night washed out but holding on barely putting up a fight and i wouldn't want to let such a rare soldier of fortune go to waste can i save it for another day can i trade in for another brain and there's a time where it all goes black and there's a time when the hits come back to back to back everybody thinks they're the one everybody thinks they're the one so how could you be the one how the fuck could you be the one now how could you be the one now is it every gonna feel the same
12.
time wasted money wasted better face it gonna chase it or erase it just embrace it i hope you're in for the long haul i've got an image in my mind but i've got to do it on my own time i've got the world on the line but i've got to save it on my own dime i hope this party goes all night long if they want to throw me out the door they'll have to drag me across the floor look around and all my friends are gone i think the lights are coming on
